We are a major hazard facility, specialising in the mixing and filling of Aerosol and Liquid products for use in personal care, therapeutic, industrial and household categories for the domestic and export market.
About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced Engineer to join the team.
This is a great opportunity for an ASAP start within a busy team. Being a specific role, it is essential that you have prior experience within a comparable role.
The role will be based on day shift. Pax is a 24-hour operation. Some shift work may be required to enable execution of specific tasks. This will always be with consultation.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering support to the Laundry plant operations through review of technical issues and developing appropriate solutions.
Manage engineering change control of the Laundry plant from initiation to completion.
Prepare documentation such as cost benefit analyses and capital expenditure requests to support justification of new engineering projects, modifications and spare parts.
Liaise with original equipment manufacturers for engineering projects and technical enquiries.
This may include arranging service contracts for Maintenance to manage.
Manage the spare parts inventory of the Laundry plant.
Execute new engineering projects involving installation and commissioning along with associated documentation such as IQOC, FAT and SAT.
Provide engineering and/or technical support to the Research & Development department in the undertaking of new product batching and validation.
Liaise with Laundry Manager to drive total productive maintenance activities and measure 5S progress through auditing.
Develop and encourage a culture of continuous improvement through overall equipment effectiveness measurement and operator engagement.
Regularly analyse OEE data to assist in developing engineering solutions to reduce line downtimes and provide monthly OEE reports to Management.
Assist in breakdown response in all Laundry machines at Pax and provide technical support to Pax maintenance department during breakdowns.
Raise MR's and liaise with maintenance department when required, based on observations made and consultative feedback from operators and ensure they are completed.
Liaise with Maintenance Manager to develop preventative maintenance programs for plant and equipment.
Documents and maintain equipment drawings and operating manuals.
Writing, implementing, revising and training of SOPS, OPLS modules and other training aids.
Conduct training for operators.
Understand the quality expectation of finished product and ensure the standard is understood and maintained.
Attend and contribute during internal SIP, customer and compliance audits. Facilitate and complete regulatory, safety and customer audit action items.

Assist with investigation of customer and consumer quality complaints to determine root cause and where relevant engineer machine related solution.
Ensuring appropriate control documents are being used e.g. hot work, confirmed space etc
Correct control of contractors
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial).
Minimum 5 years of experience in production engineering, preferably in a FMCG environment.
Team player with the ability to execute tasks and assignments independently.
Understand the quality expectation of finished product and ensure this standard is maintained.
Positive “can-do” attitude and work well under pressure.
Good communication skills.
Readily build rapport with production operators.
Fundamental understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Knowledgeable in Total Productive Maintenance.
Mechanically and process minded.
Competent computer skills such as Excel for data analysis.
Good documentation management.
Understanding of electrical diagrams.
Competency in drafting layouts and P&IDs using CAD software.
