Cutting Team Leader – Steel Fabrication

We’re on the lookout for a Cutting Team Leader to run our clients steel value-add section. The role is hands-on, and you’ll be working alongside the crew while also making sure production runs smoothly, safely and on time.

About the role
You’ll be leading our cutting team to deliver quality products on time, in full, defect free, with strong attention to detail and workmanship. The role is based around:

Directing and supporting staff to hit throughput and quality targets

Running and operating cutting equipment (plasma, laser, CNC, saws, benders) as part of the team

Keeping stock levels right to meet customer demand

Maintaining a safe, tidy workplace and machinery in good order

Training staff, developing SOPs, and supporting continuous improvement

Ensuring waste is kept to a minimum and lean principles are followed

Reporting and communicating clearly with management

Hours of work

Typically 7.00am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (with flexibility to meet customer needs).

What we’re looking for

Solid steel cutting experience (plasma, laser, CNC etc.)

Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team

Strong organisational skills – able to juggle priorities and keep jobs moving

Good communicator, reliable, and safety-focused

Willingness to pitch in on the floor as well as lead from the front

Someone who takes pride in doing the job right the first time
