About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Family Wellbeing Service (FWS) aims to strengthen the cohesion and capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families that have a heightened risk of becoming vulnerable. By enabling the raising of healthy ATSI children who can achieve their potential and addressing identified gaps in prevention, early intervention, and care coordination, family capacity building can be achieved through the application of intensive, customised support and coordination of care networks around the child and their family. The practical services and supports enabled by the FWS can build the knowledge and strength of families to provide the environment needed to optimise the health and wellbeing trajectory for their children.
