About the Role

Lead the FOI Unit's topical stream, managing complex/sensitive FOI requests under the Victorian and Commonwealth FOI Acts. Provide expert advice to executives and oversee reviews, complaints and appeals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor staff within the FOI Unit.
• Manage high-risk, complex, or sensitive FOI requests.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide expert advice.
• Ensure compliance with FOI legislation and departmental policies.
• Prepare quality reporting and contribute to continuous improvement.

About You:

• Strong knowledge and experience with the Victorian FOI Act (Commonwealth FOI experience highly regarded).
• Background in government or similar regulatory/legal environment.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills.
• Excellent time management with ability to balance competing priorities.
• Tertiary qualification in Law or related field highly regarded.
