About Us
Are you passionate about bringing bold, beautiful ideas to life? At WRAP, we collaborate with artists, architects, government agencies, and communities to create art projects that inspire, delight, and spark reflection. We're looking for a dynamic Project Coordinator who thrives at the intersection of creativity and organisation to join our team on a 12 month contract with opportunity to extend.
This hybrid role blends design expertise, project coordination, and high level communication skills. You'll be working at the heart of our practice — helping us to deliver client presentations, prepare artist briefs, support project delivery, and ensure that everything we do is connected and purposeful. You’ll be comfortable wearing many hats, from reading architectural drawings and developing presentation packs to liaising with artists and fabricators and coordinating budgets and timelines.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in art, design, or project management who's ready to grow and work across public art, artist services, and collections management.
Remuneration: Equivalent to $70,000-75,000 + superannuation, pro-rated to 4 days per week.
About the Role
Work with our team on the delivery of public art and cultural projects — including administration, scheduling, budgets, and documentation.
Support artist procurement and commissioning, contracts, and concept development.
Develop client presentations and templates.
Liaise with artists, clients, and suppliers in a clear and professional way.
Assist with project documentation, contracts, tracking, and communications.
Coordinate logistics for installations, events, and activations.
Provide design support for proposals, marketing materials, and reports.
Assist in community engagement activities, workshops, and site visits.
Maintain accurate project records, budgets, and timelines
What We're Looking For
At WRAP we believe in supporting artists and clients, enriching communities, and creating meaningful cultural experiences. This role is an opportunity to learn, contribute, and do meaningful work— all while being part of a team that values collaboration, creativity, and care.
We’re seeking a solutions-focused, and detail-oriented person who thrives on bringing creative projects to life. You’ll have a can-do attitude, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to keep projects moving smoothly. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and is passionate about art and design.
Experience monitoring budgets and maintaining associated documentation. Demonstrated ability to prepare reports and correspondence combined with strong organisational skills.
Demonstrated experience in project coordination, providing administrative and operational support in either a design, architectural, construction, cultural, or service industry.
A collaborative, solutions focused mindset, and willingness to learn.
Ability to balance creative thinking with attention to detail.
Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and project management tools (e.g. Monday, Asana).
Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in project management, visual arts, arts management, architecture and design, or related fields.
Demonstrated interest in contemporary art, public art, and cultural projects.
Strong writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail in spelling, grammar, and formatting.
Confident and professional liaison skills with artists, suppliers, and clients.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Knowledge of art handling, fabrication, or installation processes.
Awareness of cultural protocols and a commitment to working respectfully with First Nations artists and communities.
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment.
What's in it for you?
The chance to do creative, meaningful work that supports artists and communities.
Opportunities to grow into managing projects independently.
Hands-on experience across diverse and high-profile public art and cultural projects.
A flexible role based in Melbourne, with hybrid working options.
Work within a collaborative, creative team environment.
The opportunity to work directly with leading Australian artists, contributing to projects of cultural significance.
