About the role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and people-focused Practice Manager to lead our administrative and operational functions and support our growing clinical team. They will strive to facilitate operational excellence to create a great patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Manage daily operations of the practice, ensuring smooth patient flow and service delivery.
Lead and support administrative staff including: recruitment, rostering, training and performance management
Co-ordinate workflow of doctors and allied health professionals to optimise practice efficiency.
Support business development, marketing, and patient engagement strategies
Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of new systems and processes to optimise quality and efficiency of care
Maintain relationships with staff, surgeons, patients, other healthcare supplier, referrers, hospitals, and other service providers
Assist bookkeeper and doctors with financial management including invoicing, Medicare and private billing, payroll coordination, practice reporting and metric analysis
Ensure compliance with healthcare and workplace legislation privacy standards, and accreditation requirements

Experience and qualifications:
Proven experience in a management or high-level administrative role within a medical or healthcare setting. Ideally in specialist or surgical practice.
Strong leadership, communication, customer care and team-building skills
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Knowledge of Medicare, private health billing and surgical billing systems
General proficiency in practice management software (we use Xestro but previous experience with this not essential)
Proven experience with practice optimisation and change management with a genuine passion for patient care.
Knowledge of health care and workplace legislation and regulations and best practice in human resources, risk management, and workplace health and safety
Diploma in Practice Management or equivalent qualification or substantiative equivalent on the job training.
