As General Manager, you will report directly to the Board Chairperson and be responsible for:

Strategic and Operational Leadership

Lead MCFHC to achieve its strategic objectives and business goals.

Manage and grow three business entities, ensuring alignment with MCFHC’s mission.

Provide expert oversight of day-to-day operations at the Mareeba Medical Clinic.

Practice and Business Management

Lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.

Oversee all practice operations including staffing, compliance, service delivery, and financial performance.

Drive improvements in care coordination, workforce development, and community responsiveness.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong partnerships with health professionals, government bodies, and community stakeholders.

Increase MCFHC’s community profile and engagement with local members and volunteers.

Collaborate with the IMOC Project Lead to drive outcomes for the Foundation and Workforce Unit.

Governance, Finance and Compliance

Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, legislation, and funding agreements.

Provide timely and strategic reports to the Board.

Lead quality improvement systems, financial management, and risk oversight.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Tertiary qualifications in health, business, or social services (or equivalent senior leadership experience).

In-depth knowledge of the Australian healthcare system, particularly rural and Indigenous primary care.

Strong experience in practice management, financial oversight, and quality improvement.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Proven leadership in developing partnerships and delivering community health programs.

High-level understanding of Medicare, funding models, payroll systems, and reporting requirements.
