About the role
Join a dynamic and supportive Learning & Development team on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract.
As the L&D Officer, you’ll support HR operations within the People, Safety & Culture team, with a strong focus on learning and development. You’ll help identify, coordinate, and deliver training programs that build staff capability and prepare them for current and future roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L&D support and advice to staff and management
- Monitor training compliance and frequency requirements
- Maintain accurate training records in HRIS and personnel files
- Evaluate external training providers per procurement standards
- Manage bookings, budgets, and purchase orders
- Meet managers to review team development progress
- Coordinate water training and liaise with RTOs
- Track training progress and manage related invoicing
- Prepare L&D reports and updates
- Review L&D policies and procedures with the P&C Manager
- Coordinate safety and OHS compliance training
- Liaise with Safety team, field staff, and technical trainers
- Promote and manage eLearning opportunities and tools
- Develop training programs in ELMO and recommend improvements
- Support competency verification projects and frameworks
- Assist with implementing the EGW Capability Framework.

* This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 3 position, ($72,912.23 - $94,710.54 per annum)

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrated experience or understanding of the principles of Learning and Development and a passion for providing a high level of services to internal and external customers.
- Excellent administrative skills with sound understanding and experience in the use of computers, programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team, and at all organisational levels to achieve outcomes.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills combined with good verbal and writing skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- A positive attitude towards personal development including being accountable, innovative, passionate and united to achieve corporate objectives.

East Gippsland Water serves an area of 21,000 square kilometres in the far south east of Victoria, which boasts some of Australia’s most diverse and spectacular scenary and a population of around 45,000 people.
Water services are provided to some 25,700 customers, with wastewater services also provided to around 21,900 of these.
