Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality and Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. This key role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management and safety compliance within the organisation, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare services.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to accurately assessing clinical risks and developing effective mitigation strategies. They will demonstrate expertise in applying intensive care policies within a home care environment and possess the self-motivation and discipline necessary for remote work, thriving both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and safety protocols in line with industry standards and regulations, integrating intensive care policies into home care.
Monitor and evaluate healthcare practices to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance quality and safety outcomes, aligned with KPIs.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver quality improvement initiatives and safety training programs targeting KPI achievement.
Investigate incidents, complaints, and adverse events; recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence while meeting KPI targets.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, accreditation agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to standards and benchmarks.
Support ICAH’s clinical service delivery by fulfilling clinical shifts as required in emergency situations, ensuring client safety while contributing to leadership and organisational KPIs.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Quality Management, or a related field.
Minimum five years of critical nursing experience; postgraduate critical care nursing qualification preferred. Current AHPRA registration required.
Proven experience in quality management, risk management, or healthcare accreditation, preferably in hospital or healthcare settings.
Strong knowledge of healthcare quality standards and accreditation frameworks such as NSQHS, ISO 9001, NDIS, and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with leadership to uphold and advance the company’s mission and vision.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent certification preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general PC skills.
Positive, proactive attitude with a “can-do” mindset.
Must have no actual or perceived conflicts of interest that could impact the impartiality and integrity of this role.
