We are currently seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assessor to join a high-performing team at a live chicken processing facility in Thomastown. This role is perfect for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, or technical compliance within the poultry or meat industry.
This is a casual position with consistent, full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) and a strong view to permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily assessments of Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, Animal Welfare, and Biosecurity compliance
• Perform environmental monitoring (swabbing, ATP, micro sampling)
• Identify and escalate quality or food safety non-conformance
• Complete food safety documentation and reporting accurately
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Investigate and follow up on complaints and quality deviations
• Promote a strong food safety culture across the site
• Ensure compliance with food manufacturing quality standards and site procedures

What You’ll Need:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food safety or quality assurance role
• Experience working in a live bird, poultry, or meat processing environment
• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar
• Sound understanding of HACCP, GMP, and risk-based food safety systems
• High attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Full, unrestricted Australian working rights
