ABOUT TELLER
Teller is a local neighbourhood Bar & Dining spot in the heart of Lygon Street, Brunswick East. Our beautiful venue has five unique spaces, featuring an intimate 40-seater front bar, a light-filled 80-seat pavilion, a laneway courtyard bar with a retractable roof, an upstairs function space, and a private dining annex. We host so many special occassions from weddings, corporate dinners, family gatherings, quick midweek meals to casual catch-ups with friends and long weekend lunches in the beergarden.
Teller offers an approachable and friendly experience serving a shared-style menu, pouring 10 rotating beers on tap, bespoke cocktails and a carefully curated wine list.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this hands-on role, you will be a key senior team member and oversee dining and service experiences for our guests and staff as well as take on section waiting duties as required. As a casual supervisor/duty manager, your role will work alongside the venue manager and owner/operator and include end of night cash up and closing procedures. This role customer focused role will have you focus on staff training and day-to-day food and beverage services.
We offer a full-service dining experience; our ideal candidate would have a strong dining and restaurant background with a high level of wine/ beverage knowledge. This position will suit someone who is customer service driven, kind and engaging and is looking to provide outstanding guest experiences.
HOW MANY HOURS
Minimum 25 hours per week, maximum 35
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a comparable position
Highly adaptable and able to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure service periods
Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff training.
Organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive nature.
Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure a seamless operation between front and back of house operations and a positive working environment.
Ability to work proactively in quiet periods and be able to assign jobs to staff to ensure the venue is ready for service.
Flexible availability, with nights & weekends a must.
A genuine passion for giving warm and engaging hospitality.
Excellent all-round knowledge of food and wine.
