SkyHigh is one of the Dandenongs most popular attractions, situated on top of Mount Dandenong, with fantastic city and mountain views. A magnificent English style garden, beer garden, maze and function rooms; our work environment is envied by all around us.

SkyHigh is seeking an experienced and passionate bistro, cafe, restaurant and function supervisor to join the team during an exciting period of growth. We are looking for a casual or full-time supervisor to join our wonderful team of 3 managers, 6 supervisors and over 60 staff.

At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role is preferred, along with a strong background in hospitality. The job is for 1-5 days a week but does involve work in the evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About The Role:

• The supervisor will assist / support the function and event manager and general manager where necessary and facilitate the smooth running of the cafe, bistro, restaurant, beer garden and events.
• Planning of shifts, adjusting rosters, briefing and debriefing of staff
• Controlling the flow of customers into the restaurant and flow of dockets into the kitchen
• Ensuring bottlenecks are cleared quickly by moving staff from one section to another
• Relationship management – managing our loyal customers and ensuring the highest levels of customer service
• Meeting with staff to ensure staff development and resolution of conflict
• Phone sales – Ensuring bookings are taken promptly and full communication is given to all departments
• Work closely with the head chef and managers to ensure service is quick and customers are happy
• Ongoing training of new and existing staff
• Extra responsibilities like stock ordering, recruitment and supervising the training program can be taken on for the right candidate

About You:

• You are not afraid to push for improved service and train an effective team
• You are confident to co-ordinate staff in multiple areas
• An understanding of a high volume cafe or big function venue would be beneficial. You will have worked in either a catering company, restaurant group, venue or hotel previously
• You will have an Australian Driver's License
• You are proficient with excel, word and Outlook and prior exposure to a restaurant booking systems would be an advantage
• You love working in a friendly team environment
• You have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
• You have an eye for detail and an appreciation of great food and service
• You are hardworking and have a positive, enthusiastic attitude
