About the role
The Specialist Breast Clinic is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team on a permanent part time basis in Wollongong, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, providing essential administrative support to our medical professionals and ensuring the smooth running of our clinic.
What you'll be doing
Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner
Scheduling and managing patient appointments, including booking, rescheduling and cancellations
Handling patient inquiries and providing information about the clinic's services
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical histories
Assisting with the preparation of patient files and medical documentation
Performing general administrative duties, such as answering phones, processing payments and managing inventory
Ensuring the reception area and waiting room are well-organised and maintained
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within the healthcare industry
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar healthcare administration role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians and other staff members effectively
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
Proficiency in using medical practice management software and other office equipment
Proficiency in Genie or Gentu software (essential), and experience with Medicare billing systems
A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanour, with a commitment to providing excellent patient care
Familiarity with medical terminology and an understanding of healthcare processes and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Must have valid Australian work rights
Available to work between 9:00 AM - 5:00PM, Monday to Friday (part-time hours to be discussed)
