Our client, an established federal government department located in the Canberra city, is seeking to engage a skilled and enthusiastic ICT Strategic Procurement Lead to assist in the recruitment, retention, identification of needs, and performance management of capability.

Key position responsibilities:

• Build relationships with stakeholders to understand the remit of the sections within the division and drive the performance management and talent identification strategies of the division;
• Identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities, behaviours, structures and processes toward strategic talent identification and maintenance based on best practice;
• Lead the talent management and development plans for the division with a focus on enhancing the quality of leaders and managers, building skills and capabilities of the workforce, and looking at succession planning;
• Diagnose gaps between current and desired organisation performance and look to resolve gaps, including organisation redesign, process change, coaching and training;
• Analyse workforce trends to model and forecast future labour requirements to support senior leaders in workforce planning and succession planning;
• Coach senior leaders to improve leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals and interpersonal communications, as well as deliver effective performance feedback.

To be deemed suitable for this position, you will have:

• Experience with and understanding of the policies and guidelines relating to talent management and recruitment;
• Demonstrated experience in talent management;
• Knowledge and experience in successfully managing risk, including the development of labour hire appropriate risk assessments;
• Demonstrated experience in delivering positive results with time restraints and competing priorities;
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and navigate complex stakeholder relationships; and
• Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and budget parameters.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications and / or industry certification. For example, Diploma of Government and/or Certificate IV in Government (Talent Mangement, Recruitment, etc) or equivalent.
