Our Finance Team plays a critical role in supporting our mission by delivering excellent financial management and accounting services. We’re a small, agile team and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join us.

This is a full-time role located at our head office in Newcastle.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll support the Finance Team with a range of accounting tasks. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to grow their skills across a variety of finance functions.

Lovells is targeting recently graduated or undergraduate finance students who are ready to put their tertiary education into practice.

Key Responsibilities:

· Online banking, account transfers, BPay and international payments

· Intercompany transactions, payments and reconciliations

· Bank account reconciliations

· General ledger reconciliations and account investigations

· Preparation of ATO Monthly IAS and quarterly BAS

· Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports

· Provide support to the Finance Manager

· Maintaining accurate electronic filing systems

· Supporting cross-functional training and continuous improvement initiatives

· Ensuring compliance with Lovells policies and statutory obligations

About You

You’re either studying or have completed a degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting, and bring:

· Strong numerical and analytical skills

· Excellent attention to detail and time management

· Great communication and customer service skills

· A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude

· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office

. Accounting software experience

· A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct

Other Requirements:
National Police Clearance and credentials check required.

This is a key position within our finance team and immediate commencement is preferable.
