The Opportunity
Murray Constructions is seeking an experienced Administration & Accounts Officer to oversee core business operations across accounts, payroll, compliance and office support.
Based in our Deniliquin head office, this full-time role plays a critical part in keeping our business running smoothly - supporting senior management, project teams, and day-to-day office systems.
It's suited to someone with solid experience in financial administration, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to manage key responsibilities independently.
What You’ll Be Doing
Accounts & Payroll
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Process weekly payroll and employee entitlements
Reconcile supplier statements, client accounts, and banking
Maintain compliance with superannuation, ATO and Fair Work obligations
Reporting & Compliance
Complete quarterly reconciliations and Business Activity Statements (BAS)
Assist with end-of-year financial reconciliations
Manage insurance renewals and claims
Maintain up-to-date registrations for vehicles, plant and business assets
Ensure documentation is audit-ready and WHS-compliant
Office Operations
Maintain office systems and correspondence
Support general admin, scheduling, and documentation
Act as a point of contact for admin-related queries across the team
Ensure records are accurate, secure, and well organised
What You’ll Bring
Experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and administration
Strong knowledge of MYOB (or similar accounting software)
Confidence working with ATO, Fair Work, and WHS requirements
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Solid communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
[Certificate IV in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar - desirable]
[Experience in construction, trades or fleet management - preferred but not essential]
