An established and growing player in the fire protection industry is seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to manage and grow their presence across the Sydney and Greater Sydney territory. This full-time role is based in Sydney and offers a unique opportunity for someone who understands the compliance-heavy nature of construction and is passionate about delivering real safety solutions.

This privately owned business specialises in supplying, installing, and maintaining fully compliant fire protection products and systems across the commercial and industrial sectors. With a strong reputation for reliability, technical capability, and customer-focused service, they work closely with builders, contractors, facility managers, and consultants to ensure fire safety is integrated from design to maintenance.
Their product and service offering includes:
Passive fire protection solutions: fire collars, penetration seals, fire-rated duct systems, intumescent coatings, and cavity barriers
Fire-rated roof hatches, smoke and heat vents
Fire dampers, access panels, and custom fabricated safety solutions
Ongoing fire protection service contracts for routine inspection, maintenance, and compliance reporting across existing buildings
These solutions are critical for meeting stringent fire safety codes. The company provides tailored systems backed by expert technical support and documentation.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth across both new construction projects and existing building portfolios. This includes developing new business opportunities, nurturing long-term relationships, and working closely with internal teams to ensure projects and service contracts are delivered to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, mechanical contractors, facility managers, strata companies, and consultants
Developing a robust pipeline across both project-based installs and long-term service agreements
Preparing tailored proposals and quotations with the support of an experienced estimating and operations team
Promoting the company’s capabilities in passive fire protection and service compliance
Attending job sites to assess requirements and support technical discussions
Representing the business at trade shows, events, and industry networking functions
Staying informed of changes in fire safety codes and helping clients navigate compliance
The ideal candidate will bring:
A proven track record in business development or sales, ideally within fire protection, building products, or related construction services
Experience or understanding of passive fire systems and ongoing fire maintenance/service contracts
Knowledge of the QLD construction and compliance environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across multiple stakeholder levels
The ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and travel within the region
A current driver’s licence

Base Salary of $110k - $120k
