About the role
We are seeking an skilled Specialist Medical Secretary to join our busy healthcare practice in Gosford, NSW. This permanent part-time role for 3 days per week will provide vital administrative support to our specialist doctors, ensuring the smooth running of our medical operations. This position is well-suited to someone who is organised, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a warm, patient-focused approach are essential. Must be able to cover sick and holiday leave.
What you'll be doing
Provide high-level secretarial support to specialist doctors
Manage appointments, patient enquiries, and scheduling
Prepare and manage medical correspondence, reports, and referrals
Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
Liaise with hospitals, referrers, and other healthcare providers
Dictaphone typing
Assist with billing, Medicare claims, and administrative processes
Ensure the overall smooth running of the office
What we're looking for
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to maintain accurate patient records
Previous experience in a specialist medical practice (preferred)
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and accuracy
Friendly, compassionate, and professional demeanour
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
Excellent typing skills
Ability to cover sick and holiday leave essential
