About the role

Hellman Orthopaedics' is seeking a part-time Medical Secretary to join our team in Broadmeadow, NSW. In this role, you will provide vital administrative support to our Orthopaedic Specialist & visiting IMEs, ensuring the smooth running of our medical practice. Currently we are looking at a 5-6 day fortnight.

What you'll be doing

Included but not limited to:

• Scheduling and managing patient appointments
• Organising medical correspondence and scanning patient records
• Handling incoming phone calls and emails
• Assisting with the preparation of medical reports and documents
• Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies
• Providing a high level of customer service to our patients

What we're looking for

• Previous experience (min. 3 years) as a medical secretary in a healthcare setting
• Orthopaedic knowledge would be advantageous
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Dictaphone typing
• Proficient in using Genie medical software and electronic health record systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Knowledge of worker's compensation, ADF personnel, Veteran Affairs, Insurance Companies, Medicare online, Public & Private Hospitals
• A compassionate and discreet approach when handling sensitive patient information and must have great attention to detail
• Must have a current driver's licence & vehicle due to offsite clinics
