About the position:

Our NATA accredited Product Testing Laboratory is seeking an energetic and motivated person to join our team in a full-time position in Campbellfield Victoria. Whilst most work in the laboratory requires onsite attendance, there will be opportunities for working from home for individuals that have demonstrated competency.

Working in a team of other engineers within a laboratory environment against the requirements of ISO 17025 your duties will include, but are not be limited to:

  • Performing mechanical-based tests and detailed assessments on products using custom built test rigs.
  • Preparing official test reports based on results and observations made through the testing process.
  • Liaising with clients, via phone and email, providing updates and advice.
  • Development of test rigs and processes from conceptual design through to construction and commissioning.
  • Maintenance and general housekeeping of laboratory equipment and facilities.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will be confident, social, self-motivated person that thrives in a team environment but can also work autonomously.

A successful candidate must:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical or similar), or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a related field of work
  • Have a strong level of competency in reading, writing and speaking English
  • Have experience and enjoy working with basic hand tools for minor fabrication and test assembly
  • Hold a current Victorian drivers’ licence and own a vehicle
  • Have permanent legal working rights in Australia without limitations
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Be enthusiastic and adaptable with a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and actively participate in researching and identifying inefficiencies in current work practices
  • Be able to work with the quality management systems in place
  • Have the ability to follow instructions, observe and report results with a high degree of confidence
  • Be able to provide conceptual design sketches
  • Have moderate experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD or SketchUp.
  • Be able to exercise basic calculations for fluid and solid mechanics
  • Have the ability to read and interpret technical documents and standards

The position is currently available for immediate commencement.

Salary will be negotiable based on any relevant experience.
