We require a self motivated qualified Mechanical Design Engineer as we have many committed contracts in place.

Overview:

The contract role of Mechanical Design Engineer is designed to provide the current team support with key functions in engineering, including engineering design, project management, installation and commissioning of projects.

The position will work with and assist the Project Manager in developing and taking charge of various projects, design, planning and implementing.

This is for immediate start.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drafting:

Develop drafting skills utilizing AutoCAD 2D – under guidance of Project Engineers

Develop shop drawings for manufactured project components

Liaise with production on methodologies and economical material usage to achieve best practice and economical manufacturing.

Attend the factory to learn and check on manufacturing progress and quality control

Planning & Project Liaising and Implementing:

Assisting the Project Engineers with planning and organising project tasks, materials purchasing, freight, travel, and similar

Learn, understand and be able to carry out mechanical calculations

Liaise with customers and suppliers to assist in providing project solutions

Various other task as allocated during the project cycle from engineering to commissioning and everything in between.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering

AutoCAD Drafting 2D

Experience:

5 years experience in a mechanical drafting engineer role with experience with construction drawings

Experience in design, drafting and development of genset installations including fuel systems (mechanical)

Mechanical background – preference for acoustical engineering background in sound attenuation, noise control, acoustic and fire doors and power generation systems

Experience in the construction industry preferred

Skills:

Mechanical Drafting Engineer with proficient understanding of acoustics – mechanical services – power generation

Ability to interpret solutions by providing technical information.

Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

AutoCAD 2 drafting

Excellent verbal and written communication
