About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems related to our field operations. This role plays a critical part in improving efficiency, reliability, and safety across our project sites and equipment fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, organise and oversee the assembly, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical plant and field equipment (including drill rigs, vac trucks, and auxiliary systems).
Design and develop mechanical components, tools, equipment, and custom modifications for field applications.
Review and refine work systems, production layouts, labour structures, and project schedules to optimise productivity.
Conduct engineering surveys, assess equipment requirements, and prepare functional designs and project documentation.
Develop and implement maintenance programs for vehicles and machinery to ensure peak operational condition.
Establish safety and quality control standards in accordance with engineering principles and regulatory compliance.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure mechanical performance and safety protocols are upheld.
Support training and supervision of technical staff and field crews to ensure proper use and upkeep of equipment.
Liaise with project managers, supervisors and external suppliers to coordinate engineering tasks and equipment delivery.
Skills & Experience:
Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Australian-recognised).
At least 2 years’ relevant engineering experience, ideally in civil, construction, drilling, or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fluid systems, and plant operation.
Experience with field-based engineering, site supervision, or equipment design/maintenance is highly regarded.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and safety standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and practical hands-on approach.
Strong communication and team coordination capabilities.
Current Driver’s Licence ( HR licence and VOCs are mandatory ).
