Your new role
In your new role as a Mechanical Engineer, you will join a team of long-term, highly dedicated team of engineers and will have a hands-on role which will include operating machinery, analysing machines, learning about defects and behaviours and ensuring quality checking and final assessment of products. The role will be 50% hands-on manufacturing and assembling of machinery and 50% project management and general desktop engineering.
- Building and Testing Prototypes: Physically constructing and testing initial versions of designs to identify potential issues and refine the design.
- Troubleshooting and Repairing Systems: Diagnosing and fixing problems with machinery, equipment, or systems.
- Improving Existing Designs: Working to optimise the performance, efficiency, or reliability of existing mechanical systems.
- Working with Materials and Components: Selecting, assembling, and testing various mechanical components and materials.
- Utilising CAD Software: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and models.
- Collaborating with Other Engineers and Technicians: Working and collaborating with other engineers, technicians, and skilled tradespeople to bring designs to life.
- Ensuring Safety and Quality: Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have the below -
- Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a similar, hands-on Mechanical Engineer position
- Skills: Experience assembling machinery, CAD design skills and excellent interpersonal skills
