About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and solutions-focused Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to improving processes, optimising performance, and designing mechanical systems that support our operational excellence.
The primary functions of this role include:
Studying functional statements, organisational charts, and project data to clarify roles, responsibilities, and identify areas of duplication.
Establishing work measurement programs and analysing job samples to develop labour utilisation standards.
Assessing workforce utilisation, facility layout, production data, and schedules to enhance operational efficiency and equipment performance.
Designing mechanical equipment, machines, and components for manufacturing; and developing systems and plants for construction.
Preparing detailed specifications for manufacturing, selecting materials and equipment, and planning layouts, piping, material flows, and plant capacities.
Organising project labour and coordinating the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and plant to project sites.
Implementing and maintaining standards and policies for the safe and compliant installation, modification, testing, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Inspecting and monitoring plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Directing and coordinating the maintenance of plant infrastructure, managing new design requirements, technical surveys, and planned maintenance schedules.
Skills:
Solid understanding of industrial processes, engineering principles, and relevant safety regulations.
Ability to interpret complex data and implement improvements effectively.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general Microsoft Applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multitask.
Strong problem solving skills.
Qualifications/Tickets/Licenses
Degree or Diploma of Mechanical / Automotive engineering or similar
A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
5 years experience in mechanical system design, project coordination, and performance optimisation.
Australian driver's license.
National Police Check.
White card (desirable).
First aid & CPR (desirable).
