We’re Healthy Male and we’re on a mission to shift the conversation on men’s health in Australia.

We want to challenge outdated thinking, break down stigma and help more men take action on their health. We do this through clear, credible information and bold, behaviour-changing digital campaigns that spark real change.

We’re a small team with big ambitions. Like many not-for-profits, our work can be complex — especially when we’re trying to challenge long-standing norms and make health information more engaging. You’ll need creativity, initiative and strong digital instincts to develop content that cuts through, connects with our audience and drives action.

About the role

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) role — ideally three full days per week, but we’re open to four shorter days. You’ll work remotely most of the time, but we need you in our Melbourne CBD office one day a week.

You’ll be responsible for running our social media channels — planning, creating, scheduling, publishing, engaging and reporting. You’ll lead the content calendar, come up with clever ideas, jump into the comments to keep the convo going and turn big campaign goals into scroll-stopping content.

You’ll produce short-form videos and visuals using tools like CapCut, Canva and Adobe — mostly using stock, creator-style footage or what you film yourself. We don’t have a big production crew, so you’ll need to be confident scripting, shooting and editing on your own.

You’ll also manage paid social campaigns and influencer content, work closely with our content and digital teammates, and track what’s working so we can do more of it.

What we’re looking for

You’re creative, resourceful and chronically online. You know what makes content click across platforms and you’re eager to try new things to see what works. You’re full of ideas, love a good brainstorm and take pride in turning a rough concept into a polished post.

You’ve got at least three years’ experience in social media, content production or video creation and you know how to tailor a message for TikTok vs Instagram vs LinkedIn without losing the core idea.

You’re probably someone who:

Writes sharp captions and knows how to balance humour, empathy and clarity

Can run a content calendar, schedule posts and use analytics to guide what comes next

Understands platform algorithms, trends, formats and behaviours — and stays up to date

Lives in CapCut, Canva or Adobe (and makes it look easy)

Has experience managing paid social campaigns and working with influencers or creators

Is comfortable talking about sensitive health topics in a relatable, respectful way

Is happy to appear on camera now and then

You’re based in Melbourne, available at least one day per week for in-person work and excited by the chance to make health content that doesn’t feel like homework.

What you’ll get

We started in reproductive and sexual health but today, our focus is holistic. From fertility to mental health to chronic disease, we cover it all with evidence-based information that’s made to be understood.

What’s not-for-profit salary packaging?
It’s a way to increase your take-home pay by using some of your pre-tax salary for everyday expenses like rent, groceries or bills. That reduces the amount you’re taxed on, meaning more money in your pocket. It’s fully ATO-approved and available to employees of not-for-profits like ours.

What does pro-rata mean?
It means your pay and entitlements are calculated based on how much of the full-time week you work. If the full-time salary is $100,000 and you work 3 days per week (0.6 FTE), your salary would be $60,000 plus super — with leave and benefits also calculated accordingly.
