Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil, commercial, and residential construction projects.

Find and evaluate tender opportunities through industry networks and platforms

Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine the scope of works.

Liaise with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain and verify pricing.

Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns, cashflow forecasts, and budget reports.

Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance with tender requirements.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions.

Support the tendering process from submission to award, including clarifications and negotiations.

Assist with the implementation of new accounting and estimating software to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Establish and maintain a comprehensive cost database for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor rates.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction costs, market conditions, and industry trends.

Assist in post-tender reviews and provide input into project cost control during delivery.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 10 years’ experience in estimating across civil, commercial, and residential construction.

Strong understanding of civil works including earthworks, drainage, and infrastructure projects.

Proven experience in commercial builds and premium residential developments.

High-level proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Exposure to accounting systems and project cost management tools.

Experience implementing new software systems and creating cost databases.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
