About the Business

This is a multidisciplinary construction group with several offshoots spanning civil infrastructure, high-end residential, and commercial developments. Until now, the estimating function has been outsourced, but with continued growth and a strong project pipeline, the time has come to bring this role in-house. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced estimator to take full ownership, help refine systems, and make the role their own in a business that values initiative and long-term contributions.

Role

Our client, a well-established and growing family-owned construction business, is seeking an experienced Senior Multi-Disciplinary Estimator to join their expanding team. Known for their commitment to quality and integrity across civil, commercial, and residential projects, they’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the business and be part of something long-term.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing accurate cost estimates across a mix of civil, commercial, and residential construction projects
• Proactively sourcing and qualifying new tender opportunities through networks, platforms, and industry insights
• Reviewing plans, specs, and scope documents to develop a clear understanding of project requirements
• Collaborating with key stakeholders—including engineers, PMs, subcontractors, and suppliers—to gather and validate pricing information
• Creating detailed submissions including cost summaries, cash flow projections, and budget documentation
• Reviewing quotes to ensure they align with the project scope, pricing accuracy, and compliance expectations
• Identifying opportunities to reduce cost and improve value through smarter materials or methodologies
• Managing the tendering process from early engagement through to contract negotiation and handover
• Contributing to the rollout of new estimating and cost management tools
• Developing and maintaining a comprehensive pricing database across labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor rates
• Staying across industry pricing trends, construction costs, and economic conditions
• Supporting project delivery teams with cost control strategies and post-tender insights

Who We’re Looking For

• At least 10 years’ experience in estimating, spanning civil, commercial, and residential builds in Australia
• A strong grasp of civil infrastructure work - earthworks, drainage, and related projects
• Proven track record in commercial developments and high-end residential builds
• Experience introducing and implementing new software systems and cost databases
• Exceptional analytic thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
