We’re a values driven environmental consultancy working across contaminated land, water treatment, resource recovery, and environmental compliance projects. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a dedicated People & Culture Coordinator to drive our HR function, champion our team culture and support our leaders to get the best from their people.
This newly created role is critical to the next chapter of ENV’s growth. You’ll be empowered to shape our HR systems and strategy from the ground up, while also delivering practical day-to-day support across recruitment, onboarding, development, wellbeing and performance. We use the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and our People & Culture Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring our people systems align with our goals and help our team thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
Write engaging job ads and coordinate advertising across platforms like SEEK and university portals
Screen resumes and coordinate interviews alongside team leaders
Manage onboarding and induction processes
Create a future talent pipeline through events such as University Careers Fair
Oversee probation periods and staff transitions
Coordinate the recruitment of skilled workers from overseas and support the visa process alongside our immigration agent
Payroll Compliance and Team Leader Support
Work closely with team leaders to monitor and manage staff overtime in line with ATO legislation and ENV’s internal policies
Provide guidance to leaders on interpreting award conditions, entitlements and company standards
Support accurate payroll reporting and ensure employment conditions are applied consistently across teams
Employee Experience & Culture
Promote a positive, inclusive, and values-aligned workplace culture
Manage employee queries, concerns and interpersonal matters with fairness and discretion
Plan and coordinate team and culture initiatives
Ensure compliance with workplace legislation and internal policies
Learning & Development
Identify training needs and opportunities for professional growth
Support team leaders in designing and delivering internal training
Lead succession planning and leadership development programs
Performance & Feedback
Support performance appraisal processes in alignment with our EOS rhythm
Coach team leaders in giving meaningful feedback
Support staff with individual development plans and performance improvement frameworks
HR Strategy & Operations
Contribute to workforce planning and HR metrics reporting
Keep our HR policies, templates and employee handbook up to date
Manage payroll liaison, employee benefits and salary benchmarking
Maintain clear, confidential, and compliant employee records
Health, Safety & Wellbeing
Support initiatives that contribute to mental health, resilience and wellbeing
Assist with safety administration and workers compensation management
Support parental leave and flexible work arrangements
About You
You’re a trusted HR professional with a proactive approach and a genuine passion for people. Whether you're an experienced HR generalist or a senior officer ready to lead a role, you're organised, emotionally intelligent and capable of driving meaningful outcomes. You’re comfortable operating both strategically and operationally and you care deeply about building a workplace where people are supported.
You’ll also bring:
Prior experience in a human resources or people and culture role (minimum 3 years)
A certificate or degree in Human Resources (desirable)
Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice
Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
A flexible, calm and practical mindset
