THE MONDAY GROUP has been exclusively engaged by a much-loved hospitality group to appoint a new General Manager to lead their flagship Byron Bay venue.

Set on a unique multi-purpose site featuring a restaurant, events space, and gourmet retail outlet, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact - shaping team culture, delivering exceptional service, and optimising operations. You'll play a pivotal role in the venue's long-term success, balancing guest experience with commercial performance and team development.

This is a floor-focused leadership role - ideal for someone who thrives in service, leads by example, and knows how to build culture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day restaurant operations with 60% on-floor / 40% admin split
  • Manage and mentor a large FOH team including Restaurant Managers and Supervisors
  • Oversee the retail operation in collaboration with the Retail Manager
  • Maintain full venue compliance, cleanliness, and guest readiness at all times
  • Collaborate with the Events team to deliver weddings, private functions, and activations
  • Set and monitor key sales, wage, and profit targets across all revenue streams
  • Lead P&L management, stock control, supplier negotiations, and cost controls
  • Uphold a strong presence during service—leading hospitality, problem solving, and pace
  • Champion staff culture with regular team connection events, training, and support

About You

  • Proven experience as a GM or senior leader in a high-volume, premium venue
  • Confident in financial reporting, rostering, ordering, and managing P&L
  • Known for being calm, capable, and present in service
  • Natural leader with a focus on team culture, communication, and development
  • Able to problem-solve on the fly and handle unexpected operational challenges
  • Familiar with reservation and POS systems

Salary & Benefits

  • $110,000–$120,000 + bonus potential + tips
