As the Operations Manager at Highpoint Access & Rescue, you’ll lead the day-to-day running of a high-performing technical team while building the operational structure needed to scale.

About the Business
Highpoint Access & Rescue is a Rockhampton-based business providing technical industrial services across Queensland — including rope access, confined space rescue, height safety systems, and industrial training.
Led by owners Rob and Liz Stringer, Highpoint is a values-led company with a strong reputation in safety and a deep sense of responsibility to their clients and team. The business is entering a growth phase, including the implementation of new systems, a developing leadership structure, and readiness for sustainable scaling.

About You
You’re a calm, grounded operations leader who thrives on building capable teams and running efficient, safe, and reliable delivery. You’re hands-on, organised, and thrive on systems and data — you’re just as confident on-site as you are behind a screen.
You’re not a corporate operator. You work with humility, integrity, and a strong “we, not me” attitude. You’ll bring clarity and direction while respecting the expertise of the specialist field team. You’ll work directly with the owners and help shift the business from founder-led delivery to a scalable, structured leadership approach.
Your New Role
This role will lead the entire operational function — from quoting oversight to job delivery, client satisfaction, team development, and systems implementation. You’ll create consistency, embed the culture, and free up the owners to focus on strategic growth.
This is a pivotal hire for the business and a pathway role with scope to grow into the future COO.
Role Requirements
Strong operations leadership in an industrial, trade-based, or technical services environment
Proven track record of leading teams and driving service delivery outcomes
Experience improving systems, workflows, and operational performance
Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and workforce planning
Confident with data, metrics, and software (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, etc.)
Talent strategy or recruitment experience highly regarded
Experience with ISO implementation and/or NDT advantageous
Key Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Trade, technical or engineering background preferred
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Practical knowledge of service delivery in industrial environments
Tech-savvy and process-oriented
High emotional intelligence and team focus

Team Management, Development & Engagement
Purpose: Build a high-performing, values-aligned team.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop operational staff across field and coordination functions
Embed a culture of trust, safety, and accountability
Define and implement qualification levels and PD frameworks
Support performance reviews and build leadership capacity in others
Champion recruitment strategy and culture-fit hiring
Service Delivery
Purpose: Ensure seamless and high-quality client service from quote to job completion.
Responsibilities:
Oversee quoting workflow and conversion tracking
Identify service delivery gaps and implement handover improvements
Manage scheduling, logistics, and resourcing
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget
Resolve client issues and foster repeat business
Operational Excellence
Purpose: Drive efficiency and support business growth.
Responsibilities:
Refine processes and integrate systems for scale
Lead daily operations and job execution
Monitor delivery data and adjust operational plans
Introduce tools that support accountability and transparency
Prepare the business for future ISO certification and NDT
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Purpose: Maintain Highpoint’s industry-leading safety record.
Responsibilities:
Uphold compliance across all service delivery
Ensure safety is proactively embedded across operations
Implement system improvements to support risk management
Drive continuous improvement and lead incident response processes
Prepare and lead audits or certifications (ISO, NDT, etc.)
Stakeholder Management
Purpose: Build strong relationships across team and client networks.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Owners, and team members
Coordinate with training to ensure technical development aligns with business needs
Act as a key liaison between owners, field team, and clients
Contribute to succession planning and long-term leadership transition
