Disability Support Worker (Complex Care) – Wollongong | Casual

Deliver meaningful support to those who need it most
SHCS is seeking Disability Support Workers with an interest in complex support to join our Wollongong team. This casual role has potential to transition into part-time, and all complex care training is paid.

You’ll be supporting adults living with disability, often with age-related conditions, high physical support needs, and occasional behaviours of concern.

About the Role:

Provide high-level personal care including Complex Bowel Care, PEG feeding, Insulin Care, and manual handling.

Assist with hygiene, dressing, repositioning, and meal preparation.

Support clients in maintaining independence, routine, and quality of life.

Work in clients homes or high-support settings, sometimes alongside other staff.

Build rapport and provide emotional support with respect and professionalism.

About You:

Background in aged care, nursing, disability, or high-support roles.

Experience with manual handling and understanding of personal care protocols.

Able to work calmly with clients who may present with behaviours of concern.

Respectful, patient, and emotionally grounded in your approach.

Driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.

Essential Requirements:

First Aid & CPR

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working with Children Check

NSW Police Check

Driver’s Licence and own transport

Complex Bowel Care and Manual Handling experience and/or training
