Head Chef – Lead Our Kitchen with Creativity and Care

House of Hubert is a busy, community-loved café located in the beautiful beachside suburb of Tugun. We’re open for breakfast and lunch only, offering great hours and a genuine work-life balance.

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Head Chef to take charge of our kitchen, lead a small team, and help us deliver consistently high-quality food with fresh ideas for menu planning and presentation.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and supporting the kitchen team during service

• Preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard in a fast-paced café environment

• Maintaining excellent kitchen organisation, cleanliness, and food safety

• Contributing to seasonal menu planning and presentation

• Managing stock control, ordering, and food costs

• Training and mentoring staff to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

• Working closely with management and front-of-house to ensure smooth service

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who:

• Has at least 5 years’ experience as a chef and 2 years in a leadership role

• Is confident in a busy café setting, able to work efficiently during peak service

• Takes pride in clean, well-organised kitchen operations

• Brings fresh ideas for menu development and presentation

• Has strong leadership, communication, and time management skills

• Holds relevant cookery qualifications and food safety knowledge
