Our Vision is a better tomorrow where all people can belong. With over 5,000 staff and volunteers, we deliver services at more than 150 locations every day, including: Early Learning Centres, Occasional School Hours Care; Camps, Recreation, Youth Services and Kingswim.

About the Opportunity

If you're early in your ER/IR career and ready to roll up your sleeves, this is your chance to dive into meaningful, real-world casework. As our new Employee Relations Advisor, you won't be stuck on the sidelines; you'll be managing investigations from start to finish, supporting leaders through the tough stuff, and making sure our approach is fair, consistent, and legally sound.

Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, this role offers exposure to a wide range of employee relations matters across a diverse workforce and you'll work closely with our People & Culture Business Partners to get hands-on experience with a wide range of workplace issues from performance and conduct to disputes and compliance. You'll also get the benefit of mentorship, strong internal support, and the chance to genuinely build your ER/IR capability in a purpose-driven environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting investigations referred from the P&C BPs and then provide feedback to P&C BPs on ER issue root causes
  • Assist in the management of complaints/claims with external regulatory bodies (e.g., Fair Work Commission, Australian Human Rights Commission, Fair Work Ombudsman).
  • Interpreting and applying industrial instruments (EAs, Awards), the Fair Work Act, and internal policies/procedures to all cases requiring investigation.
  • Ensuring records, letters, and case documentation meet internal and legal standards.

This is a full-time position where you'll have a hybrid working model, between working from home, our Head Office in Box Hill. The remuneration for this role is $107,131 base plus super

About You

This role would suit someone who is ready to step up and take ownership. You might be coming from a generalist HR role or have had some exposure to ER, but now you're looking for the chance to run with your own caseload and really deepen your expertise.

You're confident talking to people, calm when things get tricky, and genuinely curious about how to navigate workplace issues the right way. You take pride in being thorough, fair, and balanced and you're excited by the idea of managing investigations from start to finish in a team that will back your growth every step of the way. Most importantly, you will bring a sense of humour, resilience and ability to quickly build effective relationships to position yourself as a trusted ER Advisor.

Qualifications

Ideally you will have a relevant qualification in HR, Law, Industrial Relations or a related field, along with a working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and how to apply industrial instruments and internal policy/procedures.
