We are a busy Specialist Obstetric and Gynaecology practice seeking a motivated and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our team. This opportunity is working part-time 1 to 3 days per week on a casual basis; working hours ~8.30am – 5.00pm and ability to provide cover for staff leave. Prior medical administration experience is desirable.
The role
Provide strong patient / customer service, both in person and via the telephone
Front desk administration (answering phones, making appointments, processing claims and payments, confirming appointments, manage patient referrals and ensuring referrals are current)
Manage appointment book, patient billings, liaising with Medicare and other Healthcare funds, produce surgery fee estimates, surgery bookings, organise and coordinate various tasks
Carry out all aspects of administration as needed
Provide support to Doctors and Practice Manager
Maintain office supplies, stock control and general scanning and filing
Respond to a variety of requests in a timely manner and with an emphasis on confidentiality.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience as a Medical Receptionist with a background working within a Specialist Practice will be highly regarded.
Experience with the medical software program GENIE is highly regarded and you will also be a proficient user of the Microsoft Office package.
You must have exceptional computer literacy (Mac), highly developed organisational skills and analytical skills.
Maturity to handle a range of situations working to tight deadlines
Must show loyalty, initiative, and a high level of confidentiality, and have a meticulous and thorough nature. Reliability and punctuality are essential as is the ability to work independently.
Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Have the ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relations with others.
Must be flexible to work different days of the week.
