An experienced, Senior Civil Estimator is sought who’s looking for a new challenge, larger projects, and a well-structured company, offering a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment, with opportunities to lead, and ongoing career development.

Position Overview:
The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in tender and bid preparation, estimating, and driving growth, both in the estimating division, and the company.

A senior role in a small but growing estimating team, ideally you will both adopt, and add value, to their methodology and processes, with the view to lead!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimation process for civil construction projects from concept to completion.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and related documents, and break down the project, as to how they perform the work.
• Develop detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns from 1st principles.
• Identify potential risks and provide value solutions.
• Prepare bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine estimates and address project requirements.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client negotiations, and project handover.

Qualifications, experience, and attributes:

• Any experience gained on-site in your career development would be beneficial, and well regarded.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil construction estimating.
• Demonstrable strengths in projects involving bulk earthworks, deep excavation, shoring, & piling,
• Broad experience across a wide range of other civils including stormwater, retaining walls, pavements, and utilities,
• Estimating from 1st Principles.
• Proficiency in estimating software. (MudShark, Cubit, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, all highly regarded, but not essential)
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and industry best practices, able to create budgets for duration, and programming.
• Comfortable interpreting construction drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
• Proven experience in leading bid processes and working with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Organised in document preparation, risk assessment, compliance checks, and strategic bid submission.
• Excellent communication skills.

NOTE: Australian Citizenship, or Permanent Residency is essential.

An attractive remuneration package is on offer, circa $160 - $220kpa, + Super, and fully maintained company vehicle (FMCV).
