We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Estimator to play a key role in preparing accurate, competitive tenders for a variety of civil infrastructure projects across Sydney. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our team. This key role will lead the estimating and tendering process, including methodology development, program planning, and the preparation and submission of comprehensive tender documentation.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, this pivotal role will see you managing tender assessments, preparing comprehensive bids, and driving pricing strategies across a variety of civil construction projects. You’ll work closely with Project and Operation teams to develop competitive submissions that reflect our capabilities and commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
Review and assess tender documents to determine project scope and requirements
Source additional information and liaise with clients to clarify scope
Prepare detailed estimates, methodology, construction programs, and full submission packages
Coordinate with internal teams to develop efficient and realistic construction strategies
Review contracts and documentation to identify risk and opportunities
Maintain tender records and follow up on outcomes
Contribute to business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities
Attend handover meetings with delivery teams and support financial forecasting
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes and QA compliance
About You
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
5+ years’ experience in civil construction estimating (NSW experience highly regarded)
Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods, market rates, and industry standards
Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines autonomously
