Full Job Description

Our client, a leading construction company in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Estimator to contribute to their project development process. Work including retail, industrial, health, commercial, entertainment, residential, and fit-out projects up to $50 million. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for construction projects, ensuring competitiveness, and maintaining profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and market trends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of initial estimating assessment of tenders
• Perform trade break ups of documentation, appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required scope of works and programme
• Liaise with estimating manager and construction team to finalise tender submission price prior to issue
• Final preparation and presentation of rated and coded Bill of Quantities and / or cost plan for internal review and issuing appropriate information to stakeholders
• Comparison and analysis of subcontractor pricing

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Estimating or Quantity Surveying role within construction
• Experience across the spectrum of tendering formats (competitive lump sum through to cost planning and negotiated design and construct projects)
• Able to produce cost plans / budget estimates with limited information
• High level computer skills and numeracy including the following programs CostX Estimating Software. Preferred to have completed the CostX training modules. At minimum Buildsoft or Cubit.
