About the Opportunity
This dual-role position plays a key part in promoting a safe and healthy workplace by providing expert advice on WHS practices, managing incident reporting and supporting injured staff. You’ll also assist with payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing under the guidance of senior staff.
In this diverse role, you will:
- Provide expert advice and support on WHS practices, incident and risk management, and injury/illness case management across the organisation.
- Conduct site audits, support WHS inspections, and coordinate the WHS Committee.
- Deliver and coordinate WHS training, inductions, and refresher sessions.
- Act as the superuser for the Incident Reporting System (CAMMS), including training and reporting.
- Assist with payroll operations including data entry, reporting, and system updates
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR/payroll-related training and administration.
- Stay current with relevant legislation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You:
The successful applicant will bring a strong understanding of WHS legislation, injury management, and payroll processes including tax, superannuation, and salary packaging. You will be tech-savvy, with experience using HRIS and payroll systems (Micropay desirable), and you have excellent communication and reporting skills. You thrive in a team environment, use sound judgement, and are committed to creating safe workplaces.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
