Devaneys is a specialist consultancy firm which offers workplace relations support to employers and employees in both the private and Queensland Public sectors.
The Opportunity
In this hands-on and rewarding role, you will primarily focus on advising paramedics on employment and professional regulatory matters.
You’ll coordinate employee enquiries and manage a diverse range of cases involving performance, complaints, investigations, disciplinary action, safety, and flexible work arrangements.
Working closely with an experienced employment lawyer, you’ll work independently but collaborate with paramedics and stakeholders to deliver clear, timely, and solution-focused advice. You will also assist with employer-related matters as required from time to time.
About You
We’re seeking either:
An experienced HR or employee relations professional; or
A paramedic or health care practitioner ready to pivot into a new and meaningful career in employee relations.
You’re self-motivated and a confident communicator with sharp admin skills and great attention to detail. You manage sensitive situations with compassion and are known for your discretion and professionalism. You're responsive, reliable and thrive with a fast-paced workload.
What You’ll Bring
Experience in employment law, human resources, employee relations, or healthcare practice (e.g. paramedicine or nursing).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
Capacity to manage complex, sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
Sharp but pragmatic problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
A proactive, collaborative, and supportive approach to work.
