About the Role
Carers Australia has an opportunity for a passionate and skilled Senior Policy Advisor to join our team on a fulltime basis.
Reporting to the National Manager Policy, you will be responsible for:
Researching and preparing high quality written material including briefings and submissions for the CEO, Board, Carer Australia members, government and other stakeholders.
Reviewing and preparing responses for Carers Australia on proposed policy, budget and legislative amendments from government or other peak bodies.
Contributing to the development of Carers Australia Policy, including budget submissions and grant applications.
Supporting project delivery, including management, implementation, reporting and review.
Maintaining a network of stakeholder relationships to achieve Carers Australia’s goals, anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations
Representing and promoting Carers Australia at a range of forums including engagement with government, other peak organisations and stakeholders.
Supporting Carers Australia with communication activities through promotional material development, e-Newsletter content, website content and National Carers Week preparation and delivery.
To be considered for this position you will have:
Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent work experience) in a related discipline.
Proven track record of qualitative and quantitative research skills and report writing.
Sound experience in project development, design and delivery.
Strong knowledge of, or the ability to quickly gain a sound understanding of, national policy, legislation, and government programs and processes relevant to carers
Proven track record of collaborative practice and internal and external stakeholder engagement and management. Comprehensive knowledge, or ability to quickly develop, the skills to work within an advocacy and community development framework.
Demonstrated experience at representing an organisation and promoting its interests with government and internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally, you will also have experience in Not for Profit or member organisations.
You will be rewarded with a highly attractive salary of $110,000 plus Super. You will have access to salary packaging.
