Production Coordinator (Fulltime)

$90,000 - $95,000 FTE + super | Perth-based with travel required

Barking Gecko Arts is Western Australia’s leading company creating artistic and creative experiences for children and families. We are seeking a Production Coordinator to support the delivery of our award-winning performances, festivals, workshops, and creative programs. This role is ideal for a well-rounded production professional with technical know-how, strong admin skills, and a flair for IT and logistics.

About the Role

The Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth planning and delivery of Barking Gecko Arts’ creative output. Working closely with Production Manager, this role coordinates the technical, logistical, and administrative aspects of productions and programs across WA. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate production logistics, bump-ins/outs, equipment hire, and freight

Support technical delivery across lighting, sound, AV, and staging

Maintain and manage production assets, tools, and storage

Assist with WHS documentation, risk assessments, and compliance

Provide basic IT support and troubleshoot digital/technical equipment

Support touring logistics

Support all departments (Festival, Creative Learning) in the delivery of Barking Gecko programs

Maintain production documentation including schedules, tech specs, contact lists, and asset registers

Tour Barking Gecko productions acting as Production Manager and technical support

Deputise for the Production Manager were required

About You

You’re a proactive and detail-oriented production all-rounder, with a can-do attitude and a passion for making creative work come to life. You’re comfortable working behind the scenes, solving problems, and supporting teams on the road.

You’ll need to have:

Skills across technical production disciplines (lighting, sound, AV, staging)

Strong administrative and organisational skills

Proven experience working within and overseeing small teams in a fast-moving, creative environment with the capacity to instil a high-performance and supportive culture.

A proactive, collaborative mindset with demonstrated capacity to work independently.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

A commitment to safety, collaboration, and creative excellence

You’ll ideally have:

Working knowledge of IT systems and equipment.

CAD drafting skills in AUTOCAD or VECTORWORKS packages

Willingness to learn skills outside your technical discipline.

Conditions:

Significant work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends

Must hold a valid C class WA driver’s license or equivalent.
