About House Down South

At House Down South, we manage beautiful short-stay properties across the Margaret River region—from peaceful forest retreats to luxury beachside villas. Since 2009, we’ve built a reputation for warm hospitality, meticulous care, and high-end guest experiences.

As we grow, we’re looking for a Short Stay Property Operations Manager who shares our love for the South West and wants to help shape the next chapter of our business.

Why You’ll Love This Role

Hours: 30-35 hrs Per Week
Days: Tuesday - Saturday

This is a hands-on, dynamic role for someone with proven management experience who thrives on variety, loves people, and wants to lead with purpose. You’ll be central to ensuring our properties are guest-ready, our cleaners and assistants feel supported, and our operations run like clockwork.

We’re not after a clipboard manager—we want someone who’s willing to lead by doing, roll up their sleeves, and grow alongside our team and business.

What You’ll Do

You’ll wear many hats and touch all corners of the business, including:

Team Leadership

- Recruit, onboard and support new team members (cleaners, assistants)

- Help foster a values-aligned, high-performing culture

- Provide hands-on training and mentoring

Daily Operations

- Manage and write the weekly cleaning roster

- Monitor property readiness and quality control

- Support with linen orders and logistics

- Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and guest consumables

- Oversee the warehouse and systems that keep everything running

Weekly Ops Assistant Duties

- Conduct departure and pre-arrival checks as part of the weekly operations schedule

- Be a key point of contact for escalated guest or owner issues

- Provide field support to ensure every property is guest-ready

Tech & Process Support

- Use digital tools to coordinate scheduling, checklists, and communication

- Work closely with the owners to improve systems and service delivery

About You

You're calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and don’t mind doing the ‘unseen’ things that keep a business running. People trust you. You set high standards for yourself and others, and you genuinely care about the little details that make a big difference.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- Previous experience in:

- Recruitment, training, or team coordination

- Hospitality, cleaning, property, or short-stay operations

- Fast-moving, people-first environments

- Excellent time management skills - timing is everything

- Strong organisational skills – you can juggle moving pieces and keep things running smoothly

- Confidence with technology – you’re comfortable using apps, dashboards, and task tools

- Leadership with heart – you're not just telling people what to do; you're working beside them

-Proven track-record of both managing and improving existing operational practices

Important: This is a dynamic evolving role within our business. Average hours worked will be 30-35hrs per week Tuesday to Saturday. Please only apply if you can work these days.
