Kleinig Constructions is a growing custom home builder based in Victor Harbor. We’re looking for a highly capable Leading Hand Carpenter to take ownership of our on-site carpentry team, lead from the front, and help drive our residential projects to completion.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and mentor a small team of carpenters and apprentices

Run daily site activities and carpentry setup

Maintain site safety, cleanliness, and build quality

Track daily progress and flag issues using a simple tablet-based diary system

Work closely with the builder, subcontractors, and suppliers

Manage and restock a fully equipped carpentry trailer

Read and work from detailed construction plans and specifications

📈 Where This Can Take You

This is a long-term role with built-in growth opportunities.
You’ll be supported to:

Progress into a Site Supervisor or Construction Manager role

Take on more responsibility across multiple jobs or sites

Learn scheduling, project management, and client communication skills

Help shape how we onboard and develop our future team

👷 What We’re Looking For

5+ years of carpentry experience

Previous Leading Hand experience (formal or informal)

High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership

Confident reading plans and managing on-site workflows

Clear communicator and practical problem solver

Certificate III in Carpentry + current driver’s licence

Someone who leads by example and wants to grow with the business
