The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to help drive growth by strengthening relationships with existing clients and securing new business within the childcare industry. This role involves working closely with senior management to develop and implement growth strategies while staying attuned to industry compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop deep knowledge of our product range and service offering, with a strong focus on the needs of childcare centres and our value as trusted advisors.
Stay up to date with relevant regulations (including NQF) and hygiene trends affecting the early childhood sector.
Provide regular reports to senior leadership on business performance, customer feedback, and new opportunities.
Contribute to strategic planning and help shape data-driven sales and expansion strategies.
Build strong relationships with centre directors, area managers, and procurement stakeholders across the industry.
Work closely with internal Account Executives to align business development plans and promotional campaigns.
Prepare tailored proposals and compelling presentations that speak to the compliance, safety, and hygiene priorities of each prospective client.
Manage contract negotiations and ensure supply agreements align with regulatory and operational requirements.
Optional Extended Responsibilities (depending on experience and interest):
Act as the primary contact for key accounts.
Lead complaint resolution and customer satisfaction efforts.
Oversee new client on-boarding, including first orders, staff training, and installation of dispensing systems.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in B2B sales—ideally in cleaning, consumables, or childcare-related industries.
Strong understanding of early education hygiene and compliance requirements (or willingness to quickly learn).
Confident communicator with great negotiation skills.
Results-driven, with a proactive and professional approach.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative team setting.
What’s In It for You?
$90,000 – $100,000 base salary per year
On Target Earnings (OTE): up to$120,000 - $160,000 incl. bonuses
