About the Role
The Senior Associate, Export Advisor, works within the Trade and Investment branch of Investment NSW and assists exporters to make informed decisions by providing export advisory services to NSW businesses entering or expanding in export markets. The role utilises Austrade and NSW Government services, and acts as the local point of access for State delivered export and Austrade's TradeStart network support services. (This position is jointly funded and responsive to both Investment NSW and Austrade's TradeStart network).
In delivering these programs you will be expected to work across project teams in the NSW Government, including with its network of international offices and regional export advisors. The role will also work with other trade service agencies including Federal Government (Austrade, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and others) and local, state, and federal government agencies, industry associations, bi-lateral chambers of commerce, private service providers that support and assist businesses with their export activities.

We're Looking For
- Export Sector Knowledge: Strong expertise in a specific export sector, including its key offerings, regulations, global demand, and export-related challenge
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated experience in international trade and key markets with the ability to see and communicate business issues to stakeholders
- Communication: Experience in the preparation of a range of plans, documents, correspondence, submissions and reports
- Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Austrade, to maintain collaboration and achieve outcomes
- Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel nationally and internationally to attend relevant missions, tradeshows, and events, sometimes outside of normal business hours
