The Education and Resources Warehouse and Logistics Officer is a dynamic hybrid role that contributes to empowering Indigenous communities through culturally relevant educational resources. This hands-on role drives the logistical and production heartbeat of DeadlyScience. The role leads end-to-end warehouse operations, manages inventory systems, and oversees the crafting and packaging of culturally grounded STEM resources—including petroglyph blanks, bush soap kits, and classroom materials as required.

Working from the Port Macquarie warehouse, the role coordinates with staff, contractors and volunteers to ensure timely, respectful, and efficient resource delivery. This role combines the precision of logistics with cultural integrity in production to ensure high quality service and products.

This will work under general direction and may supervise other staff at lower levels and volunteers from time to time. This position requires skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising work for themselves and at times volunteers and other staff to achieve specific objectives. The Officer is expected to set outcomes and further develop work methods where general work procedures are not defined.

This role is full time, part-time can be considered.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

To contribute to the operational objectives of the workplace, this position includes:

Resource Distribution: Oversee the seamless management of assets and resources at the Port Macquarie warehouse. Develop, control and administer a resource management service for the receipt, custody, control, preservation and retrieval of resources and related materials. Create supplier lists, distribution lists, manage inventory levels, and efficiently pack and ship resources for delivery with Australia Post. Coordinate with volunteers and Australia Post to ensure timely and accurate distribution to schools. Input and manage data using existing shipping and CRM software.

Warehouse Management: Collaborate with the warehouse contractors, suppliers and volunteers to maintain an organised and efficient workspace. Manage volunteer paperwork, organise volunteer days, and oversee stock, ensuring all activities adhere to safety standards and internal processes and procedures. Contribute to risk assessments for warehouse activities whilst maintaining, improving and where necessary developing safety procedures. Monitor, report and organise regular and routine maintenance for the premises. Implement warehousing minimisation and sustainability practices. Coordinate and manage cleaning services as required.

Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage inventory levels of applicable resources. Ensure stock control, movements, receipt and distribution are in accordance with contracts, agreements and workplace safety requirements.

Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and provide feedback on the efficiency of the production of resources, resource development related projects and education deliverables.

Administrative Support: Provide administrative support including data entry, grant application, report preparation, and communication using high level computer skills and operational ability. Maintain resource and project documentation and records. Perform a range of planning activities which may require exercising knowledge of statutory and legal requirements.

Project Support: Assist and support project leads with the planning, coordinating, and executing educational resource projects in relation to resource procurement and development. Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

Community Engagement: Participate in community consultations and workshops, such as those required. Build and maintain relationships with community partners.
