Lead people systems, reporting and vendor operations in a dynamic team

Clerk Grade 11/1, salary starting from $149,739 pa plus superannuation and leave loading

Temporary, full-time role until 30 June 2026, based in Sydney CBD

About the role

We’re looking for a systems-savvy and outcomes-focused HR professional to join our People and Capability team as Associate Director, People Systems and Analytics.

In this role, you’ll lead the day-to-day management of our people systems, workforce reporting and external providers, including payroll, contractor management and HCM platforms. You’ll provide expert advice and hands-on support to help the department improve system use, data quality and access to workforce insights while maintaining strong day to day operations while the Department is going through a core people system transformation project.

Reporting to the Director, Talent and People Operations, you’ll manage a small team and oversee our internal reporting function and support the performance and relationship management of key people vendors. You’ll also contribute to capability uplift across the broader P&C function, supporting self-service, compliance and good governance.

This is a great opportunity to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced environment, with a balance of technical expertise, people leadership and strategic problem-solving.

For any questions regarding the role please contact Rebecca Doyle Barcoe, Director Talent and People Operations at [email protected].

About you:

You know how to get the best from shared services or providers and can confidently manage day-to-day issues while keeping longer-term improvements in focus.

You’re experienced in systems such as SAP and Cornerstone (or similar) and have a strong grasp of reporting tools like Power BI. You’re known for being detail-oriented but practical, with a collaborative approach and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels.

You enjoy leading a team, supporting capability uplift, and finding ways to make systems work better for people. You’ll be someone who values good governance, sound processes and delivering high-quality outcomes in a busy environment.

How to apply: Please include a very short cover letter and brief resume that details your capabilities and experience in relation to the above role.
