Role impact & contribution

We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to join NSW Treasury as Associate Director, Inclusion. This pivotal role will influence Diversity and Inclusion strategies and programs to ensure that the voices, values, and aspirations of all employees are embedded across all levels in our workplace.

This role will lead and manage engagement with key stakeholders and departmental staff to implement an organisational approach, governance, and programs to deliver on our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) vision and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

This key role leads a small team including First Nations colleagues who are employment, learning, and engagement specialists. The role will report to the Executive Director, Treasury Finance and Services and has a dotted reporting line to the Executive Sponsor, DIB. The Executive Sponsor is a rotating role across members of Treasury’s Executive Board reflecting the importance of the work. The role works with stakeholders, leaders and the leadership team across the people, communications, strategy, and finance functions to deliver on Treasury’s cultural aspirations as a truly inclusive employer.

Proactively building trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including our Treasury Indigenous network is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government. This is an exciting role where you will be able to apply your superior communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills within Treasury, across the NSW government and out into the talent market.

Achieving success as Associate Director, Inclusion

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

· Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.

· Demonstrated high level skills and extensive experience in project and/or program management and evaluation, including stakeholder engagement across all levels.

· Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, manage complex projects and deliver DIB outcomes, achievements and activities.

· Deep understanding of First Nations cultures, including historical, economic and social factors impacting outcomes.

· Demonstrated experience in DIB design, development, delivery, and evaluation of diverse workplace programs and strategies.

· Strong cultural competency and awareness, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively in diverse contexts.

· Extensive experience in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of diverse Culture, Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Learning and Leadership Development strategies and programs with an elevated level of learning agility and the ability to apply new concepts to a changing environment

· Demonstrated conceptual, analytical thinking and research skills and experience with complex data analysis.

· Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, consultation, negotiation, leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
