About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Deedot Coffee House/ Dijon toasties' in Tarragindi, QLD. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of our busy café. This is a full-time position that offers opportunities for career development and growth within our company.
What you'll be doing
Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and execution of all menu items
Help Manage the kitchen team,training, and supervising junior chefs and kitchen staff
Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety are maintained at all times
Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items and creative culinary concepts
Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient and seamless service
Assist with stock management, budgeting, and cost control
Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment
Formal culinary training or qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff
Excellent time management, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
Passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes and a deep understanding of food trends and flavour profiles
Demonstrated commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
