About the role:

This newly created role for AMES Australasia is based between our Doncaster office and our National Distribution Centre in Dandenong South and will be responsible for providing performance insights, analytical reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders to support decision-making and drive business performance in the Transport space.

You will be handling a cost center of well over $30 million. Our primarily wholesale business, servicing small independent owners up to big box players of the DIY industry.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Use data analytics to analyse and evaluate transport activities by site, location to location, state and country costs

Deliver clear and concise reporting in line with objectives and KPIs, which are easily understandable and actionable

Select Transport and 3PL providers based on performance and effectiveness

Negotiate contracts with and manage transport and 3PL providers to ensure that they meet AMES performance, cost, time and service level agreements

Continuously evaluate the performance of providers and implement corrective actions where necessary

Collaborate with providers to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency

Monitor transport and 3PL costs to ensure they remain within budgetary constraints

Ensure accurate monthly reporting to the AMES Executive Team

Build strong collaborative relationships with Transport and 3PL Providers to drive mutual success Track and analyse performance

Ensure all monthly variance calculations are completed

Provide analysis of variances on monthly price variances

Participate in the preparation of the Annual Budget with the key stakeholders in the business

Assist with any Internal & External Audits

Skills and experience:

Minimum 4-5 years in similar role

Bachelor’s degree in finance or supply chain (or equivalent recognised in Australia) would be an advantage

Intermediate skills with all Microsoft products and other information systems

Knowledge of Transport and logistics practices and legislation and ability to translate into simple terms

Understanding of Financial accounting practices

Experience with a TMS and maximizing the data

Experience with Pronto (an advantage)

SOX Compliance knowledge (advantage)
